The formula of "till death do you part" seems to no longer work, and one every three marriages ends in separation. To say it is the merciless data of the Ministry of Justice: nearly 300 per thousand married couples ask the separation, especially consensual. And does this mean we must add the required 234 divorces in the meantime. Sociologists and pastoral theology questioning on the causes. The main reason is the change in the company, in which the idea of separation became part of the collective common sense. Even women's empowerment has helped the process by which women are no longer afraid to separate relying also on greater economic independence, and having much less fear of facing life without a companion. addition, some attributes the phenomenon not only to the fact that in Italy the couple began to separate later than the rest of Europe, but also because in our country there is still married, while in Europe, especially in that of north, they prefer to live together.
Today, finding a couple decided to marry one, and unbreakable faith, expressed with a consensus believes in a free and irrevocable is not easy in this world so selfish. The marriages are generally celebrated for pleasure and interest, convenience or economic or social. With so many failed marriages and to couples and families troubled by events so painful (because they do not forget that whatever any separation is a personal failure!) We must ask ourselves why and what is the cause?
Far from indulging in easy moralism seems that the purpose and the reason for many failures of marriages is to be found in the unrestrained materialism and selfishness that exists in society today that is aimed to seek the good of themselves and of exclusive their loved ones without having in mind the good of other citizens. All this creates injustice, discord, infidelity, grief, division, separation and divorce at all human levels. Hallway, separate, remove and produces envy, resentment, hatred, discord, strife and quarrels. Basically selfishness is the cause of all evil man.
many of us have met someone so selfish and petty that seemingly had everything, but which lack the love and compassion? The selfishness and materialistic exacerbated brought to live alone and in sorrow. How many of us have met selfish wealthy who lacked the love and peace.
Well, today's society needs to replace the chaotic and materialistic selfishness selfless love and solidarity with the human and Christian values that sweetens life and brings dignity to individuals, couples and families. This love is the principle reason and purpose of life, it produces joy, peace, mercy, compassion, support, forgiveness and communion of spiritual and material goods.
Love is a powerful force that creates life, it makes the world go round, unites and supports the needs, joys, sorrows, successes and failures in the respect of everyone's personal freedom of individuals and married couples, while preserving the fidelity, and basic measure of domestic happiness. Love makes gentle, courageous, selfless sacrifice and work and fight together in the same direction to achieve the same objective. Love moves people to truth, goodness and beauty, and is to be patient, helpful, loyal, safe, tolerant and sympathetic to others. Jesus of Nazareth
summarizes the Mosaic law to love God and neighbor, and teaches: "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples" (Jn 13, 35) . John the Evangelist says, "God is Love, who is in love abides in God and God in him" (1 Jn 4:16) . Also: "If anyone says 'I love God,' and hates his brother is a liar. Who does not love his brother whom he has seen can not love God whom he has not seen" (1 Jn 4:20) . And Paul of Tarsus writes: "Love is patient, love is kind; is not envious, does not boast, it is not inflated, not rude, does not seek its own interests, not angry, does not take account of the injury received, does not rejoice, but rejoices with the truth " ( 1 Cor 13, 4-6) .
Teresa of Calcutta said: "God created us to love and be loved." Dante, in the last verse of Paradise from the Divine Comedy, he wrote: "The love that moves the sun and 'other stars." St. John of the Cross said: "The soul that walks in love nonannoia stancasé others or itself." Lacordaire said: "Love is, above all, the reason for all and end all." Francisco de Quevedo said: "Love is the ultimate philosophy of heaven and earth. "Finally, St. Augustine of Hippo, the most important doctor and father of the Church, wrote:" Love and do what you want: if you hush, hush love. If you speak speaks of love. If you fix, fix for love. If you forgive, forgive for love ". (Pack of 13, 9)
